Los Guapos VS.
Antifaz, La Fiera & Safari
I recorded tonight's show, and wouldn't you know it, the first few minutes are nowhere to be found. We join the action in the second fall of the first match, with the Guapos playing stooge-like heels. The rudo ref misses an Emilio low blow and counts the pinfall, but the second ref catches it and overturns the decision. Replay shows a great double tope suicida by two of the tecnicos. Can you guess which ones...that's right!
Los Capos vignette airs. Universo 2000 looks wicked with his hood/cowboy hat combo. The trio expresses
their hatred for Lizmark Jr, Mr. Niebla and Atlantis, and rides off on horses...really.

Universo 2000, Mascara Ano 2000 & Cien Caras VS.
Mr. Niebla, Lizmark Jr. & Atlantis
Appearantly, Lizmark is looking to be the 'Raven' of CMLL, and that's alright with me. Niebla goes for his chop down/kip up sequence, but Cien Caras won't play along. Jerk. Atlantis wins the fall with a 'Rito Romero Especial' on M2K. Rudos pick up the second fall with a 3-way crucifixion hold on Niebla that looks pretty cool. Pretty bland third fall with nobody really shining. Lizmark gets the upset pin on Universo 2000. Post match promos set up a fued between Universo 2000 and Hijo de Lizmark.
Galavision Commercial of the Week:
If I could be serious for a minute...the best commercial this week is the 'Galavision Deportes' spot which takes a look at the stations proud tradition of Mexican sports coverage. Among images of soccer players and boxers is a great shot of Psicosis in full masked glory. I love the amount of respect Mexico has for professional wrestling, and their inclusion of it in their 'regular' sports coverage.
A poll is flashed on the screen with instructions on how to vote for the luchador of the year. The nominees are AAA La Parka, Latin Lover, and Rayo De Jalisco Jr. What the fuck?!? Somebody better have been bribed, because there is no excuse for this sorry lot of choices. My choices would have been Hijo De Santo, Ultimo Guerrero, and Shocker, but then again, I'm just some schlub with a website, so I don't think it will matter.
Momentos Estelares feature Tenieblas Jr, Shocker, and some highlights from the
match with Ricky Marvin and Tony Rivera last week.
Brazos vignette: Porky...and a gigantic torta. Say what you want about the quality of the vignettes, but by God, they know what the people want.

Los Brazos (Oro, Plata, Platino)VS.
Los Villanos (III, IV, V)
I'll admit that the 'family pride' aspect of this does make it more interesting. Villano IV works his keister off during the first fall, but the Brazos get the win. You know, this match reminds me of an episode of Speed Racer...anywhoo, the masked Villanos finish off Platino with an awesome doomsday device legdrop and pin Super Porky for the fall. Platino blows a leapfrog and lands right on Villano 3's lumpy head. Brazos kick ass in the third fall, but when the action moves to the stands, thre ref counts both teams out for the draw.
I was a bit tipsy when I watched the show, and in my notes, I wrote that there was a Guerreros Del Inferno vignette, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was about. I know that we got to see the car of another member of the stable, and it was better than Ultimo's station wagon, but that was about it. I stink!

Los Guerreros Del Inferno VS.
Shocker, Negro Casas & Black Warrior
Rudos start the beatdown before their opponents even hit the ring. Tarzan fakes the foul, but the referee is skeptical and questions the tecnicos. In the confusion, Tarzan deviously rolls up Shocker for the fall. Tarzan and Shocker really go at it in the second fall. This time, Tarzan fouls Shocker, but neither ref notices. While Shocker is down, Tarzan powerbombs him hard, and picks up the fall and match to end the show.
