It was business as usual last night during CMLL's uneven lucha offering. On one side, the unlikely trio of Ultimo Guerrero, Black Warrior and Negro Casas had an awesome match with the invading Japanese. On the other, we begin to sympathize for Gigante Silva when we realize just how bad Gigante Singh is.

Villano III, Blue Demon Jr & La Fiera vs.
Los Talibanes (Guapos)
(Rudos DQ'd when Bestia fouled Villano III)
Ultimo Guerrero, Black Warrior & Negro Casas vs.
Black Tiger, Masada & Takemura
Safari, Mr Niebla & Olimpico vs.
Poder Boriqua, Gran Markus Jr & Zumbido
CMLL vs New Japan
Gigante Silva, Dr Wagner Jr & Shocker vs.
Gigante Singh, Puma Inoue & Shibata

Some people have asked me, "Rob...how am I supposed to know when something is sick or not?" To them, I refer to the gentlemen in the crowd last night who danced around while wearing a gorilla suit. That, my friend, is sick. With the exception of Giant Singh, I really like the New Japan invasion. The Warrior/Ultimo/Casas vs. Tiger/Masada/Takemura match was outstanding. I was a little inebriated while watching the show last night, but at the time I was convinced that it was ****. It was one of the great matches where EVERYBODY involved looked really good. I especially liked the exchanges between Black Warrior/Ultimo Guerrero and Black Tiger. And to anybody who doesn't dig Black Tiger's style, you should probably turn your TV off and look into treating your alcoholism problem. The man is lightning fast, and his moves are super-fucking-crisp.

The Talibanes searching for their camel was priceless (Bestia Salvaje makes a perfect Arab). I love how CMLL is so politically incorrect with the Taliban gimmick, not to mention Negro Casas taunting his Japanese opponents by slanting his own eyes at them. If you would be so kind as to let me rant for a second, I have something on my mind. Shocker has been in major 'main event' rotation during the last few weeks, but has looked kind of awkward. He seems to be approaching his matches from a tecnico perspective, an experiment he has been trying since taking Emilio Charles hair a few months ago. While he isn't terrible now, he was truly amazing as a cool/cocky heel. I really feel he needs a good feud with an ultra tecnio (Santito?) to recapture that '1000%' magic.
