After missing last weeks report, I thought I'd really try to make up for it this week. I had the damndest time finding a place to watch lucha tonight, as I missed the early satellite feed I get at my house. I won't go through the ridiculous circumstances that stood in my way, but after much drama, I finally convinced somebody to let me watch lucha at their house, but I ended up missing the first 15 minutes or so. My apologies to those of you that read these results...both of you.
We now return to the regular lucha results, already in progress...

Villanos III, IV, & V VS.
Los Hermanos Dinamitas

I've never been a big fan of the Villanos, and I can't stand Dos Caras or Mascara Ano 2000. Pretty boring back and forth action, with the Universo 2000 and Villano IV feuding. Universo gets his masked ripped up pretty good, and eventually the Villanos sweep the first two falls. Afterwards, Universo 2000 gets on the stick and challenges Villano IV to a singles match. He goes on to call the Villanos, "Los Hermanos Maricones!" I giggled.

Momentos Estalares

This weeks stellar moments feature Virus, Ultimo Dragoncito and Los Infernales. Although I may have missed them at the beginning of this show, I haven't seen much of Mephisto or Averno since they won their cage match at the last PPV, whereas 'Los Guerreros del Inferno' are on almost every show. Hmmm.

Alright! The first Familia de Tijuana vignette. Psicosis, Damian and Halloween (666 and Halloween aren't wearing their facepaint) are bullshitting in front of Arena Mexico, expressing how proud they are to represent Tijuana. A blonde luchador in an arm cast (I figure he must be somebody, e-mail me if you know who) tells them that they are in D.F. now, and that Tijuana attitude won't fly here. They basically tell him to fuck off, and continue to talk up T.J.

Nicho, Juventud Guerrera, Damian 666 & Halloween VS.
Santo, Negro Casas, Rey Misterio Jr. & Hombre Sin Nombre

I mark out as Nicho comes to the ring wearing his old Psicosis mask, complete with giant wig. Sadly, Lady Victoria is nowhere to be found. Tecnicos win the first fall when Negro hits a reverse DDT on Damian. As the second fall starts, Santo and Rey use simultaneous bulldogs to slide Halloween and Damian out of the ring. Juventud sees this happen, and applauds for some reason, causing Nicho to scream at him. The rudos brutalize each tecnico one at a time (except Negro Casas) and score consecutive pins on each of them. The tecnicos begin to get the upper hand towards the end of the third fall, when Damian runs to the back. He returns with his trademark kendo stick, and cracks it over each of the tecnicos heads', causing the refs award the third fall to Santos' team. Afterwards, the rudos cut a pro-TJ promo, and interestingly enough, Nicho warns Santo and Negro Casas that him and Juventud will be coming after their titles.
I am a big fan of La Familia, since most of the live lucha I've seen has been in Tijuana, so it's difficult for me to write this. This match has been the third match in a row to use the majority of these workers, and this one was hands down the worst of the bunch...and it was largely due to La Familia. Halloween held his own, but Damian just didn't seem to fit in. As you may recall, Rey and Nicho have improved greatly over the last few weeks, so I'm not counting these guys out yet. Hombre Sin Nombre was definitely the MVP of the match, as he not only looked great himself, but made all of his opponents look good. I also thought I'd note that Rey Jr. now has this skunk stripe dyed though the middle of his hair, and Nicho is sporting corn rows. Nichos works, Reys' doesn't. Alright, this isn't a style report...

A vignette airs with Apolo Dantes and Shocker bowling with Dantes female fan.  This leads into...
Emilio Charles Jr. VS. Apolo Dantes: Hair vs. Hair

Scorpio Jr. is Emilios second, while Shocker has Apolos' back. Emilio presents his blonde fan with a large vase filled with flowers. Emilio dominates the entire first fall, until Dantes catches him with a smooth northern lights suplex out of nowhere for the pin. During the second fall, it seems that the ref, 'Baby Richard,' is biased towards Emilio Charles, as he slow counts for him, and keeps warning Shocker not to interfere. It's during on of these warnings that Scorpio Jr. enters the ring behind his back and hits Apolo as he is applying an ab stretch to Emilio. This allow Charles Jr. to roll up Dantes for the second fall. Dantes gets revenge on Scorpio in the third fall when he hits a mean looking tope suicida on him, sending him into the third row. Baby Richard continues to officiate in Charles' favor, as he continues to slow count, and even slaps Dantes when he won't break a hold. Scorpio later ends up taking the flower vase away from the blond fan and hands it to Emilio, who breaks it over Apolo Dantes head. This causes Apolo to bleed hardway from the top of this head. Emilio covers the unconscious Dantes for the win, and his hair. Both luchadores' female fans begin fighting in the crowd when the victory is announced. Once the match ended, Shocker finally challenged Emilio to a hair vs. hair match. This challenge overshadowed the fact that Dantes was getting his 'hair' shaved in the ring, as the camera focused more on Shocker and Emilio Charles.  Afterwards, Shocker and Dantes' fan joined Apolo, who is covered in his own blood, in the ring.
Although the Shocker/Charles hair match has been anticipated for months, this match seemed very awkward to me. Emilio Charles had walked in as a semi-tecnico, as Dantes was clearly portrayed as the rudo. Going into the third round, Emilio started to get some heel heat, due to Baby Richards bias. Once he bashed the vase over Dantes skull, he was now clearly a rudo. Going into this upcoming hair vs. hair match, we have Emilio Charles Jr., the beast man who had to cheat to win his last hair match, and we have Shocker, the obnoxious narcissist. And while I'm a big Shocker fan, it would seem that the average fan wouldn't care which of these two heels lost their hair. I'm very interested as to how the next few weeks play out.

You know...I figured since I missed the first few minutes of the CMLL show, that I would go ahead an recap AAAs' offering this week. The first match featured the debut (?) of their newest gimmick team...The Village People. I shit you not. The Village People... complete with a quick performance of Y.M.C.A. This is exactly why I will continue to refuse to watch AAA.
