Lucha Libre vs.the WWF

Whatta contest! You psychos came through in a big way. My hat goes off to everybody that entered as each submission gave me a chance to peek into the demented heads of you all. Thanks to the great turnout, there will definitely be more of these 'whore yourself-for-a-prize' type deals.
The entries themselves ranged from old-school to new school and everything in between. It was interesting for me to watch certain patterns develop in your submissions, proving that great minds think alike.
A lot of you felt that the WWF's William Regal was best suited to lock up with the son of Santo. Couldn't you just imagine the technical wrestling clinic these two would put on? Of course the brass knuckles would be no match for the silver mask, and Regal would tap to Santos camel clutch.

Another matchup that was consistent through almost every entry was pitting La Familia de Tijuana agaist La Familia de Dudleyville. Although Rey Misterio, Spike, Lady Victoria and Stacy Kiebler created a few variations in the match, it was a general consensus that the Dudleys and Halloween and Damien would bring hardcore to a whole new level, destroying every table in the building in the process.
In the ultimate 'Clash of the Legends' (or egos), many of you wanted to see Mil Mascaras go mask to moustache with Hulk Hogan, as well.
It crushed me to have to pick a winner, as it was obvious that a lot of creative energy went into a lot of the entries. With that said, I'd like to share some of the matchups that really stood out...

Ricky Marvin vs. Shane 'Hurricane' Helms
"A huge high flying contest here."
-Big Daddy

That would be so sick. Helms has yet to have that 'breakthrough' match since entering the WWF, but the guy is more talented than the majority of the entire roster. And I've heard rumors that Ricky Marvin secretly has the ability to actually fly, but just tones it down as to not blow his cover.

Cavernario Galindo vs. Triple H
"...in a a snake tearing, sledge hammer match."
-Rose City Rudo

I had never heard of Cavernario Galindo, but recognized the name from La Arena. Once I went back and read his profile (go ahead, we'll wait), the brutal beauty of this match became apparent. From the respective reputations of both men, I think the match would result in a draw after the two the them simultaneously rip the still beating hearts out of each other. Pay the Rose City Rudo a visit at his new site (and check out the slutty photos of his neighbor!)

Psicosis (Nicho), Cibernetico, Gronda, Shocker, Abismo Negro, Black Warrior, and Doctor Wagner Jr. VS.
Eddie Guerrero, Triple H, KANE, The Rock, Chris Jerico, Booker T, and Steve Austin

"...in a Lucky Seven Plexi glass Cage/ barbed wire, tables, chairs, and ladders super hardcore match in the six sided AAA lucha styled ring. All seven from one side must escape to win the match! I numbered the team members to parallel them with who I feel would match them best on each side!"
-El Tercero

Yikes! I'm betting that El Tercero was the guy burning ants with a magnifying glass as a kid.

As I said, all of the entries were great (I'm such a pushover), but the winning submission from BigHead blew me away. He did a great job of capturing the best current aspects of both Lucha Libre, and WWF's interpretation of wrestling, creating some very interesting matchups in the process...

Dean Malenko vs. Blue Panther

Edge/Christian/Lance Storm vs. Guerreros Del Inferno

Hardy Boyz vs. Nicho/Juvi

RVD/Hurricane/Tajiri vs. Rey Jr/Antifaz/BlackWarrior

Angle/Booker T vs. Santo/Octagon

Steve Austin vs. Dr Wagner Jr

Even as a dream PPV, I could actually imagine seeing a card like this take place (and the thought of that Canadians vs. Guerreros match gives me goosebumps). BigHead, the Wagner photo's in the mail. Great work, hermano. Again, thanks to everybody that submitted an entry. The next contest will definitely have higher stakes thanks to all of your enthusiasm.
