December 14, 2001

In my first report of anything AAA, the glam rudo, Charly Manson has reportedly made his first appearance in a match, since being injured a few months ago. A some of you may remember, Charly was involved in a nasty ladder spot gone wrong in one of AAA's awful garbage matches. In said spot, the fake Psicosis attempted to tip a ladder that Manson was climbing, and send him crashing through a table that was set up on the outside. The ladder being used in the spot was pretty cheap, and caused Charly to fall short and land head first onto the concrete, resulting in a concussion.
Manson participated in a trios match with his stable, The Black Family, against the KISS-inspired, Vatos Locos on 12/07. Apparently, he didn't get very involved in the match, and only got a chair shot in during the second fall. The Black Family went on to win the match.

Another Eddy Guerrero update?!? I had promised myself that I would try to tone down the 'Eddy Updates,' but there was an interesting announcement made this week concerning his involvement in the new RFVideo federation (as reported here last week). It is being widely reported that the main event for the show will pit Eddy against the insane luchador, Super Crazy. This is being billed as their first encounter with each other (?), but I can't imagine these two having a bad match. Admittedly, when I first heard news about this new 'fed,' I assumed it would be your regular indy-type show, but any organization that is smart enough to book this main event for their first show is okay with me, and I hope to get a copy of the entire show.

As you can see, a small news report today, as I've been working on a few additions for the site. As I mentioned before, there will be a 'Who's Who' feature appearing soon that will help new lucha fans become familiar with CMLL. I figure I will add 10 or so luchadores a week, and update it as their characters and feuds change. Also, I've arranged an interview for the first, 'VivaLaLuchaLibre Profile.' Sometime next week, I will introduce you all to Sacramentos most menacing luchador, so stay tuned. Finally, I've had recent 'talks' with local hipster, and O.G. internet hustla', Robert Berry (retroCrush, X-Entertainment), and we will see the resurrection of a classic lucha web page, here at Viva. La Parka fans should definitely check back next week for the official announcement of this project. Until then, Viva La Lucha Libre!
