Well, with recent links going up at some of the loveliest sites in Sacramento, I figure I'd keep some fresh content up to let you know what's going on. First and foremost, the site is it's pre-launch stage. My partner in crime is missing in action, and I'm not ambitious enough to try an spearhead this whole thing alone. It's a great time to get into lucha libre, folks, and I need some hipsters out there to join the familia and help turn this two bit site into the powerhouse it can be. Even if you're barely starting to get it, you can help me with this, and I promise to help drag you into this nerdy, yet ultimately fulfilling scene that is lucha libre.

As I mentioned, this is a great time to start watching lucha. Last night, Rey Misterio Jr. and Psicosis made their CMLL debut on Galavision. It was without a doubt my favorite televised lucha match in a long time, and a great reward for having to sit through weeks of Dinamita Bros. vs. Gigante Silva matches. If you missed it (you're a jerk), Rey Jr. teamed with Felino, Antifaz del Norte, and the amazing Black Warrior against the rudo team of Psicosis (who, in Mexico, is referred to as Nicho el Millionario), Virus, Juventud Guerrera, and the Black Tiger. The technico teamed prevailed with everybody looking really good. Even though Nicho and Rey's debut really highlighted the match, Warrior and Antifaz stole the show (Warriors first tope to the outside was insane.) Also featured on last nights shows were some campy Halloween vignettes that included Dr. Wagner Jr. creating a Frankenstein monster, and Los Boriquas spoofing the Sixth Sense (For a complete rundown of the vignettes and the rest of the show, click here). All together a very entertaining show.

On a more unfortunate note, Eddie Guerrero was released from the WWF on Sunday evening. La policia busted him driving under the influence in Florida the day before. Even though I rarely condone drinking and driving, I must say that I really wish he didn't have to go. Eddy sounded like we was ready to kick some ass, possibly feuding with his nephew, who really needs an angle, and having some great matches with Rey Jr. next year. Instead, he'll probably work some indie shows, and possibly turn up in Mexico some time next year. I wish Eddie the best, and hope that leaving the WWF will have a silver lining for him.

I'll post any major lucha news that I find entertaining, as well as comment on the new XWF federation that Jimmy Hart is fucking with. They've already got Psicosis, Juvi, Konnan and Vampiro going over on a bunch of workers, and are supposed to bringing in some more cruiserweights in the future. Until then, drop me a line and for Santo's sake people, post at the Lucha Libre Mafia message board. Until then, Viva La Lucha Libre!
